Free Entry to the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos
Over-65s: free, always
If you are 65 or older, you enter the Alcázar free. No ID required (though staff may ask for proof of age). This applies every day, year-round. You still must arrive within opening hours and respect the summer-morning-only closure.
Children 0–13: free, always

The summer-hours catch: free entry, but only mornings
Free entry is great, but it does not change the opening hours. In summer (16 June–15 September), the monument closes at 1pm and the ticket office closes at 12:40. If you are over 65 or have children, you still must arrive before 12:40 to enter free. Afternoon visits in summer are impossible for anyone; free entry does not buy you extra hours. This is why some free-entry visitors book the €28 night tour in summer instead.
Gate ticket vs. guided tour for free-entry visitors
